What We Do

Beacon 27 is a small-business IT and process consulting firm built for the companies that keep communities running—contractors, trades, service providers, and blue-collar businesses that don't have time for buzzwords, bloated solutions, or slow support.

Founded by a Product Manager with deep Agile and web development experience—and roots in the rural community of Kuna, Idaho—Beacon 27 exists to serve the businesses that are often overlooked or underserved by traditional IT providers. We understand how frustrating it can be to work with firms that prioritize big corporate clients, push unnecessary software, or fail to move at the pace real work demands. Beacon 27 was created to do things differently. Practical Technology. Proven Process. Built for Real Work.

Hardware and Software That Fit the Work

Technology should support the job—not get in the way of it. Beacon 27 helps businesses select, deploy, and maintain both hardware and software that are appropriate for how and where the work is done. This includes workstations, mobile devices, networking equipment, and field-ready technology, as well as websites, internal tools, workflow automation, and business software. The focus is always on reliability, simplicity, and long-term value—not over-engineered or overpriced solutions.

Corporate-Grade Process, Right-Sized for Small Business

Many small businesses operate on experience and grit—but lack formal processes simply because no one has ever translated them into a usable system. Beacon 27 brings proven corporate process management, Agile practices, and product thinking into small businesses in a way that makes sense on the job site, in the shop, and in the field. The goal isn't bureaucracy—it's clarity, consistency, and scale.

Service That Moves at the Speed of Your Business

We believe great customer service isn't a luxury—it's a requirement. Beacon 27 operates with a hands-on, responsive approach because downtime, confusion, and delays cost real money. You'll work directly with someone who understands both the technology and the realities of blue-collar work.

Communications Beyond the Office

As a licensed Amateur Radio Operator and Practitioner, Beacon 27 also provides guidance and support for radio communications—ideal for rural operations, remote job sites, and businesses that need reliable backup or field-ready communication solutions. Rooted in Rural Idaho. Built for Working Businesses.

Beacon 27 is proudly rooted in rural Idaho values: honesty, hard work, and doing right by the people you serve. We partner with businesses not as vendors, but as long-term allies—helping them modernize, compete, and grow without losing what makes them work. Beacon 27 — a steady light for businesses that get things done.

Why Beacon 27

Beacon 27 takes its name from the early aviation mail beacon system: long before radar, when concrete beacons stretched across the United States and pilots navigated by line of sight. Beacon 27 was the marker that guided aircraft from Salt Lake City into Boise.

It was a reliable point of reference in open country—steady, practical, and trusted. That idea is at the core of this business.

About Me

Mikey, founder of Beacon 27

Meet Mikey

My name is Mikey. I was raised in Southwest Idaho, graduated from Kuna High School, and built my career the long way through work, experience, and consistency. I did not attend college, and that path is something I'm proud of. It reflects my blue-collar roots, my work ethic, and a career built on showing up, learning fast, and earning trust.

I started in customer service and technical support, working directly with customers, solving problems under pressure, and learning how systems break in the real world. By taking advantage of internships, internal development programs, and hands-on opportunities, I worked my way into the application development space and eventually into product management.

Today, I bring over a decade of experience in product management and business analysis, paired with more than ten years in customer service and technical support. That combination shapes how I work: I focus on outcomes, usability, and long-term value; not theory, hype, or over-complication. I understand both how technology is built and how it's actually used by people trying to get work done.

Beacon 27 exists to bring that same mindset to small and blue-collar businesses: clear direction, practical solutions, and technology that works as hard as they do. Outside of work, I spend my time off-roading, exploring America's wild lands, hunting, fishing, and reading. Those pursuits keep me grounded and connected to the kind of environments and communities that Beacon 27 is built to serve.
